59Racing launches McLaren 720S GT3
New Australian GT squad 59Racing has unveiled the McLaren 720S GT3 it will campaign in this years Australian GT Championship, with Fraser Ross behind the wheel.
59Racing will be the first team race the 720S GTS as part of the McLaren Customer Racing program. 59Racing has been named as a tribute to the Le Mans-winning F1 GTR which sported the number 59 during the race back in 1995.
The car arrived at the team workshop late Monday afternoon. It was a tight deadline to template, draw up print files, produce the signs, apply the base orange and apply the livery over the top before the Launch on Thursday evening. While there hasn’t been a lot of sleep this week, its been an amazing project to be a part of!
TP Design was able to complete the job on time and delivered outstanding results that have been praised by upper management at McLaren, the team at 59Racing and sponsors. Special thanks to Matt and Wayne for assisting with the base wrap along with Paul at PSB for producing some last minute signage for the car.
Dressed in McLaren orange with blue, matte black and gloss white highlights. The striking colour combo will be a standout on the grid next weekend racing at the Australian Grand Prix.
“This design captured McLaren and all our sponsors perfectly. The end result was even better!“ Ross said.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing what the 720S GT3 can do around Albert Park.”
It was great to attend the launch of the 720S GT3 at McLaren Melbourne on Thursday night. There were plenty of guests, media and team members all on hand for the unveiling.
